In this position, I represented independent musicians and bands, obtaining extensive print, radio, TV, and online media coverage for their campaigns. I also supported a senior publicist in client meetings, drafting press materials, and updating media databases.

I was one of 80 interns chosen from thousands of applicants for Discovery Communication's highly competitive internship program. As an intern, I supported the Digital Communications & Social Media team by monitoring the company's various social media channels, compiling industry-related talking points, and drafting press materials for Petfinder.com campaigns. I also composed an extensive reference guide for talent and employees of Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" during their appearance at the SXSW festival in Austin, TX. For over two years, I reported on performing arts, culture, and charity in the Washington, D.C. area. I've been invited to attend and cover events at the British Embassy, the French Ambassador's residence, the Embassy of the UAE, and the Smithsonian museums. I reviewed productions at the Kennedy Center, Ford's Theater, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Washington Ballet, and other performing arts organizations. As the Assistant Editor, I worked closely with Miss A founder and CEO Andrea Rodgers where I oversaw editorial content for the national women's e-magazine. I was responsible for editing articles for AP style and publishing daily content ranging from film and television to charity events and philanthropic organizations. During my second summer with Planned Parenthood Federation of America, I drafted press releases, talking points, letters to the editor, newspaper editorials, and other materials to generate attention for PPFA's key issues. I also led a media training workshop at the organization’s annual Organizing and Policy Summit and I researched and compiled patient testimonials for special projects.

At WNO, I facilitated artist interviews with reporters resulting in advance features for the organization's special concerts and season productions. I also developed and executed a communication plan for company's Education and Community Outreach department resulting in print, Internet, and broadcast media coverage.
