I am a people leader within Credit Risk UK, where our aim is to protect the Bank and our customers through effective management of credit risk when underwriting new and additional business. I lead the mortgage underwriting function, ensuring mortgages are decisioned within the parameters of the Bank's risk appetite, credit policies and relevant regulation. Within this role I work closely with the first line of defence, keeping open lines of communication and ensuring decisions are made and communicated in a fair and consistent manner. I monitor the mortgage portfolio, reporting on overall performance and key risk indicators. I collaborate with stakeholders to review and update the mortgage lending policy and deliver training and procedures to support implementation. I previously worked within the Financial Solutions Group in First Trust Bank, where the purpose is to minimise losses through engaging with customers experiencing financial difficulty to agree sustainable solutions. I managed a team responsible for completing all quality assurance, risk and goverance tasks, as well as delivering an innovative change agenda for the department. I have also worked in Collections and Recoveries teams, managing customers through the arrears cycle from first missed payment to litigation and asset disposal.I am known as being energetic and enthusiastic, always eager to get involved in new projects and deliver results. I am recognised for my problem solving skills and ability to implement initiatives quickly and effeciently. I enjoy collaborating with stakeholders to deliver projects to meet key business objectives.My areas of expertise include project management, risk management, governance and assurance and report writing. I'm at my best when working in a fast paced change environment where I can continually learn and develop new skills. I have an LLB Law Degree from Queens University Belfast and I am currently studying to complete the Chartered Banker qualifications.
