The strong belief that sustainability and environmental issues have always been important, but never more so than today, brought me to the Centre for Alternative Technology. I am passionate about education, co creation, community engagement and partnership working at all levels to improve opportunities, outcomes and life chances. With this comes the real hope and possibility of change; through bringing a range of stakeholders and audiences to work together to imagine a positive future, we can identify the barriers and explore solutions to address the climate and nature emergencies. I am Head of Education and Learning at CAT and lead a team offering training, education and engagement for everyone – as well as the training and support offered, as part of the Zero Carbon Britain Hub, which aims to improve the capacity of councils, communities and organisations to turn climate emergency declarations into action and create systemic change in order to increase resilience to climate change. Prior to joining the Centre for Alternative Technology I was a Head Teacher, I also supported the Local Education Authority in an advisory capacity from 2003, working with schools and other organisations in challenging circumstances to enable them to develop effective action plans and bring about organisational change and improvement as a result.
