She sits on the Partnership on AI steering committee for synthetic media policy.As part of her role, she has trained journalists in a number of African countries on using open software to fact-check mis- and disinformation, digital security, and contributes to the CfA iLab misinformation dossiers.Previously, she managed the engagement department within Code for Africa to amplify awareness of the organisation's projects, products and partners, and to foster a growing tech-for-good community. She was managing editor for the African Network of Centres for Investigative Reporting (ANCIR). In this time, she supported a team of journalists across the continent to produce the Panama Papers in partnership with the International Consortium for Journalists. As one of the largest collaborative investigations, it was awarded the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting.Other projects she coordinated included a cross-border investigation into HIV-drug smuggling, and an investigation of a bot network being used as part of a misinformation campaign in South Africa. Part of her role included creating a communication plan for ANCIR's digital security programme, editing articles and blog posts, and creating and editing social posts. Previously, she assisted with managing the editorial policies of Code for Africa, including for websites, journalism projects, social media and blogs, and helps various production teams with social media and syndication.Before joining Code for Africa, she worked as Online Night Editor for the Mail & Guardian as part of the team that relaunched the M&G's digital products, (including websites, social media and multimedia) resulting in the audience growing from under a million to 2-million in one year. As part of the brand building, she was part of a team that scripted and presented a weekly online radio show, as well as edited and often presented a weekly online video news digest.
