I am responsible for collecting, posting and managing account payments. I am also responsible for submitting claims and following up with insurance companies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Review and edit claims to ensure proper coding- procedure code, DX code and modifiers work with the provider/nurses to get the claims corrected if neededAuditing of claims to ensure they are correct before being billed out to the payerReview client’s billable services, monitoring accuracy of the services provided (procedure codes), package authorizations and daily/weekly/monthly limits of services and accuracy of level changes.Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies either electronicallyProcesses payments from insurance companiesPrepares, reviews, and sends patient statementsFollows and reports status of delinquent accountsReviews accounts for possible assignment and makes recommendations to the Billing Supervisor, also prepares information for the collection agencyAnswers questions from clerical staff and insurance companiesMaintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
