Key Achievements:- Established internal communications function for the organization. Over a two-year period, led employee communications strategy to improve employee engagement (+3%), culture satisfaction (+3%), confidence in leadership (+4%), and equity, diversity and inclusion satisfaction (+6%), even as the company experienced engagement challenges caused by the evolution of hybrid work, digital transformation and transitioning from a provincial to federal credit union.Key Accountabilities:- Owns all internal communications with a focus on articulating and strengthening employer value proposition, culture, inclusion and engagement- Oversees CEO and executive communications, leading the development of strategy, content, key messages and channels- Leads culture initiatives in partnership with senior leadership, including facilitating executive conversations to set the culture vision, analyzing culture and engagement data to inform decision-making, developing a roadmap of deliverables, and designing culture artifacts and onboarding programs- Leads cross-functional teams to deliver culture-building events connected to corporate objectives- Oversees the ongoing development of the Communications Centre of Excellence to advance internal communications principles, standards, training and tools - Oversees maintenance and advancement of digital employee channels (including intranet, virtual town halls, blogs, staff emails, newsletters and videos) to meet the evolving needs of employees and the business - Partners with the Strategy and Finance teams to deliver quarterly updates to employees on enterprise performance, creating alignment to strategic objectives and priorities- Partners with the Human Resources, Social Purpose and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion teams to enhance talent brand and elevate the employer value proposition across communication initiatives and channels

During this time, I played a key role in the successful integration of BC Biomedical Laboratories and CML Healthcare into LifeLabs, which took the workforce from ~2,500 to ~4,000 staff. I led effective internal communications and change management activities that maintained employee engagement and minimized attrition.I was credited with minimizing disruption to customers and educating existing employees and external stakeholders (including physicians and regulators) on the changes resulting from these two acquisitions. This was achieved by developing and distributing informative, high-quality email communications and newsletters.I was also selected to manage development of the company’s first national community engagement strategy. This involved determining sponsorship and employee giving opportunities that best reflected the organization’s goals.

I managed a team of 4 staff in communications activities including internal newsletters, executive communications and more for a company with 850 staff. Prior to this, I excelled in HR roles focused on employee engagement and talent acquisition.
