Amanda Wright is the Executive Director of Business and Partnership Development. Amanda joined the University of West Georgia full-time in 2013. She previously served in community engagement, public service and outreach, and other academic affairs roles at the University of West Georgia.In 2015 Amanda helped to build the Office of Community Engagement, as it was previously known, to serve the institution and its broader community. In 2020, she assisted in getting UWG recognized by the Carnegie Foundation as a Community-Engaged Institution. As the Executive Director of Business and Partnership Development, Amanda utilizes her skills and experience by cultivating and supporting UWG’s campus, community, and business partnerships locally, regionally, and statewide in partnership with UWG Career Services. In her role, Amanda connects various UWG colleges and schools with local, regional, state, and national partners in order to develop and maintain collaborations in support of experiential learning opportunities for students. Additionally, she leads the West Georgia Nonprofit Network, leads the West Georgia Nonprofit Leadership Institute in partnership with UWG Continuing Education, and manages the Nonprofit Internship Program.Amanda holds a B.S. in Mathematics from UWG and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D in Higher Education Administration from UWG. She is also certified by the Georgia Academy for Economic Development and is a licensed nonprofit consultant for the National Standards for Excellence Institute. Amanda is an advisory member of the HelpWest Employee Benevolence Fund Committee at UWG, and is the Campus contact for the Census and economic development.Amanda enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, Randall, who teaches at Mt. Zion Elementary School and serves as the Varsity Baseball Coach for Mt. Zion High School.
