I joined the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce) marketing department in 2008 as the Graphics/Web Designer. My responsibilities include creating print and digital pieces, including invitations, promotional posters, brochures, large-scale banners, a monthly destination e-newsletter and various email event invitations. My scope of work at the Chamber includes not just the overall brand of the organization, but also the marketing of our youth education and training programs, as well as the Flint & Genesee Convention and Visitors Bureau. Additionally, I am responsible for the design and marketing of The Flint Promise and Flint & Genesee Opportunity Youth. My role at the Chamber also includes maintaining our organization’s WordPress-based web site, flintandgenesee.org.As part of the marketing department, I had a key part in our award-winning organization and community rebranding efforts that launched in March 2014. These efforts included multiple national and international ad campaigns, billboards and overall rebranding design of internal print and digital materials. I continue to work to evolve and strengthen this brand, with fresh campaigns and messages. Our latest destination campaign, "Our Flint is...," won a gold Addy in 2018 for its design and messaging.Working for an organization as diverse as the Flint & Genesee Chamber has taught me how to juggle many projects and messages while maintaining focus on the overall brand and vision of the company.• Design print and electronic collateral for all departments, as well as general business pieces• Update and create pages and content for chamber web site• Produce e-marketing materials and maintain contact database• Photograph events; edit and retouch images for print, web and social media• Responsible for bidding out externally printed collateral and promotional pieces• Part of team maintaining social media marketing efforts

My previous job experience includes seven years of designing page layouts for The Flint Journal, an 80,000+ circulation newspaper. My layouts ranged from clean, photo-oriented compositions to complex, graphic-based packages and illustrations. Working at a newspaper taught me the technical side of print production, while making me a flexible, creative problem solver in a deadline-driven business.• Design several news pages on daily deadline• Conceptualized, drafted and designed daily feature layouts, illustrations and graphics using multiple software programs• Facilitated communication and coordination of page and graphic production with various departments• Assisted with the development, management and content creation for Edge, a weekly entertainment section aimed at 18- to 34-year-olds• Successfully completed two major web site design projects directed at the local community
