During each year, I ensured all students met or exceeded grade level academic goals in early literacy, vocabulary, math, and science while balancing the academic and social-emotional curriculum to meet the needs of a high-needs, at-risk student population. Together with my team, I developed innovative storytelling curriculum to promote oral language and storytelling skills. I collaborated individually and with my team with mental health specialists and social workers to meet needs of students with significant trauma histories. I collaborated with my team and supervised efforts to ensure that our classrooms met standards to achieve NAEYC accreditation. As a lead teacher, I supervised two teammates and conducted biannual reviews to promote individualized teacher development.
