About Amanda Muñoz
I am excited to start my career caretaking water, soil, and natural resources. The health of our communities is deeply connected to the health of our soil, our water. And for too many of us, there is a gap in local resources that rebuild our soil health through composting. In 2024, I am focusing my efforts on creating access to community composting for residents of Fort Campbell, KY. With the right partners, I hope to expand this effort to our surrounding neighbors in Clarksville, TN. Please reach out if you would like to support this vision. In 2021 and 2022, I completed the Master Gardener program, learning more about soil and identifying and tending plants in the Tennessee area. Since then, I have continued to learn via webinars on compost, ecology, and various natural sciences. This is my third year tending a mini-compost bin in our backyard and first year harvesting seeds from our sunflowers, marigolds, pumpkins, and various gourds. In 2024, I have also started venturing into the world of foraging by identifying edible plants in my own backyard and watching botany lectures available through my library. (Three cheers for libraries!) What else do I like to do? Oh, I’m glad you asked! I thrive on developing and facilitating programs that engage people in the learning process. And I love creating (and documenting) processes that improve workflows. Have a project that involves researching, collecting input from multiple stakeholders, and extensive writing? You know I want to be in on it!I love creating content and sharing resources. Both are essential components of learners' "aha!" moments. Through my involvement in career advising, educating students and families on the college transition and financial aid process, and managing volunteer tutors, I have honed the ability to recognize patterns and identify missing resources. I find ways to connect people with the resources that help them improve their lives--and the lives of those around them--by creating those resources or tracking them down. This serves my larger life goals of connecting people with those around them and inspiring people to cultivate and share their strengths. Some of my favorite activities include:• Curriculum supplements (PowerPoints, classroom activities)• Facilitating interactive presentations• Technical writing (guides, processes)• Tutorials (audio-visual, text)• Interdepartmental research and planning• Career exploration coaching
Listed skills include Public Speaking, Free Application For Federal Student Aid, Customer Service, Time Management, and 18 others.
