As a Purchasing and Production Coordinator at Alternative Apparel I work with the vendors daily to help manage vendor relations and purchase orders between the companies. Some other responsibilities include custom order coordination which involves working between PD, sales, and production departments. I also am in charge of leading a weekly touch base between the TD, PD, Purchasing, Planning, and Quality departments at Alternative.

In the global sourcing department, I work with global apparel factories and ensure products are produced correctly. This requires daily communication to monitor our production in China, Cambodia, India, Pakistan, and Columbia. Since our company is heavily involved with licensing of sporting teams and universities, all merchandise must met certain criteria in regards to team logos, colors, testing procedures, and social compliance. As a global sourcing coordinator, I am responsible for ensuring this criteria is upheld. During my first few months of employment with Concepts Sport, I worked in the licensing department. I communicated on a daily basis with the licensing departments of NCAA, MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NASCAR. This process included submitting artwork, following up on the approval status from the leagues, requesting the appropriate changes from the art department, and resubmitting the artwork for approval.

Buckle is known for its excellent customer service. They produce top salesmen and pride themselves on their extensive product knowledge. While at Buckle, I worked in sales, merchandising, and management. I was an intern, a team leader, and a visual merchandise manager. I learned how to effectively conduct interviews, manage team players, and expand on my merchandising skills. I helped to open a couple new stores throughout the Georgia area. This entailed walking into an empty store and merchandising form the ground up. My first opportunity was for a brand new store. The location I was working at was later remodeled, allowing a couple more opportunities to merchandise a retail space from scratch. I also worked directly under the greater Atlanta area manager and learned many aspects of multi-store managing. As a management trainee at The Buckle, I worked with the Atlanta, Georgia area manager through The Buckles' extensive management trainee program. This encompased merchandising, sales, and management of teammates. I was able to create team member schedules, implement merchandising ideas throughout all departments of the store, and travel to local stores to help with their merchandising. During my time in this position, I was part of a team which traveled to a new store location opening in Georgia. We completed the entire process from a completely blank store until when the doors opened for business.
