Philmont is a Boy Scout Camp, hosting more than 20,000 Scouts each summer, who go on twelve-day backpacking trips. I backpacked with ten groups throughout the summer, for the first four days of their trek, making sure they had everything the needed and teaching them new skills. I met new people every single day and got to practice my leadership skills, explanation skills, independence, reliability, and problem solving. I also led a special STEM trek for twelve days where I taught my participants about Aerospace, Meteorology, Astronomy, Forestry, Ecology, Dendrology, Dendrochronology, etc.
