The object of this project was to reconstruct and modernize an inoperative and undocumented Biaxial Tissue Tester. The project included enhancement of the functionality of the current machine by upgrading and adding system components, and developing a LabVIEW code to control the system and data acquisition. The project required repairing broken/outdated parts, remanufacturing missing or broken parts for which replacements were not available, designing a new gripping method, and enhancing data acquisition and image processing. The project required developing an operational testing scheme for sensor calibration and motor control.
