Throughout my career, I have been driven by my passion for organization and creating robust programs to engage with diverse participants and stakeholders. As the first Sustainability Coordinator at the Animal Care Group of Lake Oswego, I built a unified Sustainability Program from the ground up for all five businesses within the organization, including defining and monitoring metrics for success, collaborating with business leaders and staff on annual goals, and authoring the organization's official Sustainability Policy. Previously, as the Education Director for my own wildlife education business, I designed and presented interactive programs for classrooms and community events with the express goal of expanding access to underserved communities. This built upon my previous experience as an Event and Operations Manager designing and overseeing dynamic educational exhibits, events, and programs to increase public awareness and support for wildlife conservation. In every role, I have shown my talent for partnering with multiple stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and maximize performance. I am adept at building, training, and leading teams executing education programs, events, and organizational operations. I am a quick learner who is always ready to go the extra distance to deliver exceptional programs and achieve my organization’s goals. Sustainability CoordinatorAnimal Care Group Of Lake Oswego Mar 2017 - Aug 2023When I became the Sustainability Coordinator for the Animal Care Group of Lake Oswego in 2018, there were five businesses operating within the umbrella organization and multiple departments within the primary care practice. Our goal was to unify, codify, and execute a sustainability mission for the entire organization, with particular emphasis on environmental, social, and economic sustainability. As the Program Coordinator, I:- Built the five-business organization’s comprehensive Sustainability Program from the ground up, including authoring its defining Sustainability Policy, emphasizing Corporate Social Responsibility and circular economy.- Designed and implemented sustainability initiatives, including defining goals and metrics, monitoring the success of ongoing projects, and reporting to upper management.- Gathered and monitored data on resource usage (financial, material, and time required for various processes) in collaboration with each business and department to identify areas of improvement and barriers to implementation for new protocols.- Worked with department heads, owners, and management to address employee concerns, incorporate feedback, and maximize commitment.- Designed and conducted interactive staff trainings and presentations on our goals and progress. As a result of these efforts, Clackamas County honored our organization with a Gold-tier Certification as a Leader in Sustainability and listed Animal Care Group of Lake Oswego in their Green Business Directory. Following this certification, our first annual Green Goal in 2019 was to reduce paper usage across the organization by 15% from the previous year. Through continued collaboration and employee engagement, the organization saw a 26.33% reduction in the use of paper products that year and an 11.69% reduction in spending even with the increased cost of post-consumer recycled copy paper. -
