I provide oversight and overall management for the Idaho Physical Activity and Nutrition program-- including planning, implementation, and evaluation-- and serving as the state coordinator for the nationally legislated Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant. This work is 100% remote. My work includes:- Facilitate statewide efforts and manage approximately $1 million annual budget for obesity prevention, fall and injury prevention, and increased access to food for vulnerable populations in Idaho’s 44 counties, 35 of which are considered rural, and 16 “remote” (less than 6 people per square mile).- Oversee the state Fit and Fall Proof™ volunteer-led exercise program for older adults, which reaches ~10,000 participants in over 130 locations. - Develop, negotiate, implement, monitor, and evaluate ~20 government contract and subgrant awards with recipients such as: local health districts; state universities; non-profit organizations; city municipalities; and contractors. - Develop and write federal grant applications within small teams, e.g., co-wrote the CDC BOLD grant application which resulted in the creation and state legislated Idaho Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia’s Program with a state funded match, resulting in an annual award of $550,000.- Co-facilitate the Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Network, a statewide multi-sector professional group, developing statewide materials for food security, obesity prevention, and built environment active transportation.- Participate in Division-wide health equity workgroup, collaborating with other programs on how to improve health equity and make programming approaches to address social determinants of health.

Evaluator and single person team for multiple statewide programs such as Tobacco Control, Drug Overdose Prevention, Sexual Violence Prevention, and Environmental Health providing needs assessments, evaluation planning, and program outcome and process evaluation analysis. - Assisted in competitive CDC grant applications, including Rape Prevention Education, Tobacco Control Funding, and Childhood Lead Exposure Prevention. - Liaison and main point of contact for guiding third-party evaluation work, e.g., National Jewish Health conducting an evaluation of the Idaho Tobacco Quitline. - Created surveys for public assessments and evaluations, i.e., surveys assessing tobacco use and habits for ~25 annual booth events with over 1000 general public responses which provided insight for tobacco control programming.- Served as Chair for the State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup, consisting of data analysts and evaluators from multiple state agencies working towards creating streamlined inter-agency data sharing processes, as well as aid in the development of the Office of Drug Policy Youth Substance Use Survey.- Met with stakeholders and professionals to join seven statewide coalitions and strategic planning teams focused on improving health outcomes for populations most adversely effected (i.e.; through violence, substance use, etc.) by addressing social determinants of health throughout Idaho.

- Assisting in creating comprehensive educational content, activities, and assignments in undergraduate course CPH 330 Human Sexuality.- Network and recruit professionals within the community to present in the classroom on relevant topics to human sexuality. - Advise and mentor undergraduate students one-on-one to increase understanding of classroom content and projects, as well as connect professionals for potential future internships.

- Received University of Arizona Institutional Review Board approval to conduct qualitative and quantitative research on bar staff perceptions of sexual aggression in bar settings to inform state bystander training and policy.- Recruited, organized, and conducted focus groups and dispersed surveys to bar staff identified through literature review research to be working in highest risk areas for sexual aggression.- Analyzed qualitative data from focus groups and surveys, which informed the statewide Arizona Safer Bars Alliance programming, dedicated to training bar staff how to recognize and respond to sexual aggression amongst patrons. - Received the University of Arizona Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows Outreach and Innovation Showcase Award for Best Research Poster. - Presented research at the American Public Health Association Annual Conference 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.

- Coordinated with three partner organizations to implement the national study “Improving Contraceptive Options Now” (ICON) at El Rio Community Health Centers with the goal to improve contraceptive uptake in women age 18-29 years old. - Performed as liaison between research company and multiple departments within the El Rio system to implement research while following HIPPA and Human Subject Protection IRB protocol.- Primary patient recruiter for the El Rio site, the sole west-coast Federally Qualified Health Center within the study.- Recruited and consented participants for ICON study, as well as performed case-file reviews of participants’ electronic medical records to evaluate the implementation of contraceptive counseling.

- Member of a bikeability assessment team that was directed by members of a broad based, multi sectoral community coalition working on chronic disease prevention through physical activity in the rural community of Ajo, Arizona.- Provided technical assistance to the coalition through collecting and analyzing data in collaboration with community members, community-based institutions, and the Arizona Department of Transportation.- Co-wrote a formal community assessment, program plan, and final report for community members to implement the Ajo Bike Project, which has sustainably run for seven years.

-  Part of one of the first teams nationally within Girl Scouts to begin testing and using Salesforce to track and pursue leads of prospective members. 
-  Assist prospective and current members with technical support and website navigation. 
-  Promote and assist with council-wide programs, activities, public relations, and fund development endeavors. 
-  Ensure Girl Scouts is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to all prospective and current members.

-  Registered patients at the largest hospital in three counties in all facilities, which included: Emergency Room, Lab, and Perioperative Services. 
-  Recorded patients’ personal demographic information using EPIC electronic medical records. 
-  Informed patients of services available such as financial assistance, workman’s compensation, and crime-victim reporting. 
-  Remained a calming first point of contact for patients as they entered the hospital, often during stressful and traumatic situations.

- Presented data driven community assessment to town authorities and the municipality with proposed programs and methods of improvement, the first of its kind in the town’s history. Recommendations from this diagnostic were used as the basis for implementing new programs in the local school. - Co-programmed and co-wrote grants totaling over $4,000 for two youth camps, which resulted in over 120 youth under the age of 18 participating in a 3-day camp receiving workshops on healthy lifestyles, career development, leadership, community volunteerism, and better environmental practices. - Created and managed the community’s first ever youth 26k group bicycle ride by coordinating resources between five community organizations, and inspiring additional “active and healthy lifestyle” activities in the community. - Joined the community health clinic and public school to create and co-facilitate the first- ever young health promoters group, a comprehensive sexual education program which focused on HIV/AIDS and teen pregnancy prevention. - Wrote tri-annual government reports of projects completed accompanied with data of affected population and outcomes.

Worked seasonally as a boat checker and camp host in The River of No Return - Frank Church Wilderness Area of the Salmon-Challis National Forest at remote boat launch locations on Middle Fork of the Salmon River. This required me to work extended duty tours of 8 days in the field with overnight stays at the remote guard stations. - Worked independently, or on small teams, without direct supervision. - Supervised fellow co-workers in projects and training, as well as assigned and managed tasks.- Delivered wilderness ethics and river interpretive talks to the public daily, as well as educated all recreation visitors on Leave-No-Trace practices. - Processed 200 boaters a day (totally over 10,000 people in the season) through the river lottery permit system by checking required equipment, assigning campsites on the 100-mile river stretch, and issuing permits and boat tags. - Communicated and worked with both commercial guide services and recreational boaters from all over the world. - Communicated via handheld radios and satellite phones to and from backcountry guard stations and main office, at times needing to relay information regarding fire hazards, river conditions, and road conditions. - Attended and participated in regional and district safety trainings, as well as safety meetings. - Managed and processed funds as a Collection Officer. - Cleaned and maintained areas such as: campsites, buildings, fire rings, restrooms, boat ramps, airstrip, livestock areas, and appropriate signage. - Completed Defensive Driver training and held a government operator’s license to drive and maintain a government vehicle. -Accurately and efficiently filed and processed data from official government documents both manually and using Microsoft Excel. - Used and maintained government equipment such as battery cells, power tools, generators, radios, satellite phones, and government housing
