My work includes:- Facilitate statewide efforts and manage approximately $1 million annual budget for obesity prevention, fall and injury prevention, and increased access to food for vulnerable populations in Idaho’s 44 counties, 35 of which are considered rural, and 16 “remote” (less than 6 people per square mile).- Oversee the state Fit and Fall Proof™ volunteer-led exercise program for older adults, which reaches ~10,000 participants in over 130 locations. - Develop, negotiate, implement, monitor, and evaluate ~20 government contract and subgrant awards with recipients such as: local health districts; state universities; non-profit organizations; city municipalities; and contractors. - Develop and write federal grant applications within small teams, e.g., co-wrote the CDC BOLD grant application which resulted in the creation and state legislated Idaho Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia’s Program with a state funded match, resulting in an annual award of $550,000.- Co-facilitate the Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Network, a statewide multi-sector professional group, developing statewide materials for food security, obesity prevention, and built environment active transportation.- Participate in Division-wide health equity workgroup, collaborating with other programs on how to improve health equity and make programming approaches to address social determinants of health.
