Academic Counselor Ii
•Co-advise a student population of around 1500 College of Agriculture students. •Administer educational advising programming and initiatives to positively affect student experience. •Utilize university resources and databases to provide educational guidance to students by interpreting and enforcing degree requirements and university/college policies and procedures. •Work with students to determine appropriate education solutions consistent with their academic needs and goals. •Provide case management to students not meeting educational requirements and offers guidance toward other possible academic programs. •Serve as crisis management point of contact for Dean’s Office and faculty advisors, maintaining current affiliations and training with SafeSpace, Lighthouse, and LSU Student and Mental Health Centers. •Analyze retention date and collaborates with student services and the Assistant Dean to determine on-going adjustments to advising programming and student outreach. •Maintain student records collection in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation requirements. •Develop presentations and coordinates advising efforts at various LSU Orientation events. •Liaison to LSU senior colleges and student support resources on campus, including, but not limited to Student Health Center, Center for Academic Success, Student Advocacy & Accountability, Disability Services, and Veterans’ Affairs.
