Ambitious. Passionate. Dedicated. I am always looking for ways to grow overall as an individual, as well as in my studies. Bettering myself is one of my passions; the key to progress in this area is self-awareness, internalization, and continuously working on weaknesses. I am an opportunist and strive to go above and beyond to make myself stand out. Self-accomplishment is what fuels me and motivates me. I thrive on looking back on all of the hard work I have done and seeing it all pay off when I accomplish my goals. During my time at Illinois State University, I have accomplished some amazing things. During the fall 2015 semester, I participated in the Disney College Program at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The program was truly an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity where I learned a lot about the Walt Disney World Resort and myself. Over the course of the internship, I worked full time while taking classes online. My time with the Walt Disney World Resort molded me into an individual who can solve any problem quickly and efficiently, and handle any guest complaint with ease. During the spring 2015 semester, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the course entitled, “American Family: Change and Diversity”. When I took the course the previous semester, we did a project on family history that required extensive genealogy research and family interviews in order to learn about ancestors before our time. I wrote a lengthy paper about my mother’s side of the family and was able to find out lots of information about my grandmother and her family. Shortly after this project, my grandmother passed away. I brought some resources I created for the class to my grandmother's wake to share our family history with other members of my family, who to my surprise, knew very little of the information I discovered. Genealogy research is now a passion of mine; I enjoy looking at my family history and finding new information about my ancestors.
