I work with numerous companies and sole traders in the UK assisting with all areas of bookkeeping and accountancy. Preparing and filing annual returns such as filing self assessments and preparing and filing annual accounts and corporation tax returns. General bookkeeping and VAT returns and processing payroll. Offering any general advice which I am able to in any other areas also.

In this role I was working for a construction company dealing with plumbing heating and insulation treatments. The company receives funding from the government to upgrade peoples heating and insulation systems, therefore my role also included overseeing data staff meeting are submitting the correct information to meet all the requirements for the funding too be granted. My position controlled all of the finance and HR function, reporting directly to the CEO and Managing Director My duties also included: Monthly management accounts produced and also financial year end accounts and statutory accounts produced and submitted to HMRC and Companies House. Running the whole payroll process including year-end reporting and finalisation. This role also included gaining accreditations for the company in their areas of expertise including PAS, Gas Safe. Although living in Spain I worked three weeks in Spain and one week in the UK.

In this role I was working for a training provider who dealt in the majority with the up-skilling of unemployed people in the construction industry and other Employability areas. My position controlled all of the finance and data function which consisted of managing 4 members of staff. Reporting directly to the board of directors, I produced comprehensive management information and financial accounts within the required timescales and attended board meetings to present this information. My duties also included: Monthly management accounts produced and also financial year end accounts and statutory accounts produced and submitted to HMRC and Companies House. Running the whole payroll process including year-end reporting and finalisation. The company was struggling with financial difficulties and my role involved tight control of the cash flow reporting on a daily basis to directors and to the bank and other financial institutions regularly. This role also included compiling and submitting bids for new and existing college and government funding and overseeing the relationship management with partners across the country. Although living in Spain I worked one week in Spain and one week in the UK. My role ended when I was made redundant in February 2016.

The company I was working within was a mail order company who manufactured and supplied craft goods from raw materials. I implemented a new stock control system which incorporated the bill of materials and costs of all raw materials onto the system so that a correct cost price per product could be calculated effectively. I ensured that all factors that related to the cost of the product including fixed costs and wastage were included to ensure that the product is still profitable for Trade, Retail and Shopping Channel customers depending on the margin. I organised frequent stock takes and the details were then checked and reconciled against the stock system and also updated on our website. The majority of the regular business was obtained through a tv shopping channel. This position arose after I had worked for the business as a self employed accountant for 1 year. I identified that the business was not being correctly operated and was offered the opportunity to see what I could achieve. My main focus initially was on implementing policies and procedures for all of the current staff. I then organised a re-structure of the business and the roles that staff were undertaking using individuals identified strengths. I looked into all aspects of property costs and purchasing and implemented new procedures and procured stock and services at greatly reduced prices. The business has now expanded into opening a highly successful retail store and has moved into supplying lots of smaller craft shops with an ever growing Trade section. The business turnover more than doubled in my last year from 300k to 695k and the business is now profitable. I launched the business into new markets in my last year and the company is now launching new products increasing profitability to over 1m this year. I processed all accounts information including Management Accounts, fixed asset reconciliation, Statutory Accounts and Financial Statements which are submitted to Companies House.

This position was working in a high pressured education environment which provides NVQ’s and apprenticeships to Adults. I reported directly to the Managing Director and Chief Executive, producing accounts and numerous other reports in a timely and professional manner. Duties include:· Controlling accounts for 5 companies within the group. Preparing monthly and annual management accounts and Financial Statements for submission to senior management, auditors and to Companies House.· Processing all purchase ledger / sales ledger and banking transactions through Sage Line 50.· Bank reconciliations both Manual and computerised.· Processing payroll for 60 staff including all year end transactions.· Preparing daily cash flows and other funding reports for senior management.· Processing Group VAT returns and reconciling intergroup transactions.· Identifying cost savings that can be made and implementing them across the business by changing suppliers or by implementing procedures for better efficiency.· Working on company MIS system producing numerous reports both financial and statistical for both internal and external use.· Working with the Process and Quality Manager enrolling and training new and current staff on MIS system.

I started at Northgate Vehicle Sales as a Purchase Ledger Clerk and moved into assisting with Sales Ledger and Credit Control. After 2 years I progressed to Accounts Administrator and began to learn more about the general accounts function and progressed to Accounts Manager in 2003. Duties included:· Managing 9 members of staff comprising of sales ledger, purchase ledger and general admin. Covering all aspects of interviewing and employing new staff, and dealing with any other staff/HR issues.· Preparing accounts to submit to the PLC for consolidation, including trial balance, P&L and balance sheet. Stock and profit reconciliation, accruals/prepayments, bank reconciliations and VAT returns (including Intrastat and VAT on 2nd hand margin).· Creating and monitoring monthly budgets, identifying and analysing differences within expenses and income.· Controlling company assets and ensuring depreciation is calculated correctly and the correct items capitalized.· Preparing numerous monthly analysis reports and additional ad hoc reports for all levels of senior management to enable them to make informed business decisions.· Checking expenditure and making recommendations for any cost cutting that could be made.· Controlling and running the payroll and HR for 90 staff, ensuring all employment documents are issued (such as offer letters and contracts) and making contact for references and any further documents which may be required. Ensuring that all government employment legislation is complied with.
