Amanda is a research scientist and a PhD candidate at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She has over 12 years of experience in scientific research, with a focus on plant molecular biology and genomics. She holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in biotechnology, agricultural science, respectively, from QUT and the University of Queensland.Her current work aims to improve the breeding time and quality of Australian fruit trees, such as macadamia, avocado, and mango, by using genomic tools and techniques, such as bioinformatics, complementation studies, BiFC assay, and data analysis. She has contributed to publications and presentations on fruit tree genomics and has collaborated with industry partners and stakeholders. She is passionate about applying her technical understanding and analytical skills to solve real-world problems.
