Passed the Advanced Practice in Psychological Well-being PG Cert at University of Surrey. Including assessment, treatment interventions and diversity modules. For my service, I worked alongside completing the training course. Working up from 1 contact per day, I finished the course with 6 contacts per day delivering a mix of assessments and low intensity treatment sessions at step 2 on the stepped care model.

Based at St Ann’s Hospital, my role is to provide telephone support and signposting to individuals in a mental health crisis. Many clients are signposted to their mental health team during office hours and advised to use our service out of hours. This role has developed my communication skills via telephone, ability to de-escalate situations and to act appropriately to provide the best support. Each call is risk-managed and triaged according to level of support needed and interventions needed. Emergency services are alerted when necessary. Involves communication with various different professionals, including police, ambulance, social services, GP’s, nurses and others.

Working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions supporting them to live independent lives. As of February 2022, I am working on a casual contract.
