Being the first person in my immediate family to ever pursue higher education has definitely been a scary thing, but growing up I always loved going to school and learning new things. I have always excelled in the sciences and math subject matter, and at any given chance love the opportunity to advance and grow in my knowledge of those subjects. I am currently enrolled at Wesleyan College pursuing an undergrad degree in Biology, a minor in chemistry with a pre-pharmacy concentration. I intend to pursue a Doctorate in Pharmacy degree after graduation and eventually own my own independent pharmacy. In addition, I assist in a research project assessing the active ingredient in lavender essential oil and it’s affects on beta fish behavior. As a student who actively conducts research I have grown my skills in critical thinking, complex problem solving, and creative thinking. As well, I work part time for an independent pharmacy as a pharmacy technician. This job has enhanced my communication skills, patient care skills, attention to detail and many more. Extracurricularly, I hold a leadership position as a SAAC representative for my college soccer team, I am also one of the team captains, and I am an FCA huddle leader on campus. Additionally, I serve as a member of the Tri-Beta, Phi Kappa Phi, and Alpha Lambda Delta honors society’s. Balancing all of these tasks and responsibilities as a full time student alongside also working as a tutor for other students has given me the opportunity to hone in on my time management skills which is a big part of how I can do all that I do. I believe that all of these experiences attest to the hardworking and dedicated nature of who I am and are good qualities in a potential employee.
