Currently, I am the virtual Kindergarten and First Grade teacher for Weber Online. I have been teaching with Weber Online since the day it started in 2020. I have been responsible for creating most of my content from scratch, meeting Utah State Core Standards.I currently teach in an asynchronized setting. I am responsible for providing appropriate content on Canvas for students to complete on their own time. I record video instructions and lessons for content delivered through Canvas to give students direct personalized instruction. I also teach students directly in a live daily google meet. During our live google meets, students are able to collaborate with classmates and participate in several "we do" activities. Through these teaching opportunities I am able to provide the "I do, we do, you do" teaching method in a virtual setting.I have had to learn many digital programs and tools. I am fluent with Canvas, Google, Adobe, Screencastify, WeVideo, Nearpod, Skill Struck, Imagine Literacy & Math, Zearn, IXL, Extra Math, Lightbox, Flipgrid, Office, etc.I have also certified in Reading Horizons, LETRS, Nearpod, Leader in Me, Acadience K-6, and Modern Classroom.I served as the librarian and created a library program for our online students. I also created and planned an online theater club and the production for our theater club. I was able to teach choir, choreography, and public speaking virtually each week. I was responsible for planning and providing all virtual assemblies for Weber Online.Due to our small staff, all teachers including myself were responsible for the planning and executing of all school activities, family activities, and field trips. I was also the leader responsible for planning our literacy nights.I served on the community leadership team, completing and certifying in the Leader in Me Lighthouse program.

I have continued to work as an account specialist and treasure of Skeen Construction Inc. and the other branches of business that have broken off throughout the years since 1997. Until 2006, I worked for Skeen Construction Inc. on a full-time, daily basis managing the entire office. As part of these duties, I had to handle and organize all paperwork, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, filing, customer service, and work with third-party businesses and representatives.I also was in charge of preparing bids for jobs and managing employees. I worked with the mechanic dept and job supervisors to order parts and materials needed for job sites and projects.My duties also included preparing all tax filings. I was responsible for completing and filing all forms. I worked with Payroll Solutions and Quickbooks to keep all company information organized and readily available and current.I decided to pursue my teaching ambitions, but I have remained treasurer and account specialist since 2006 on a part-time basis, still completing all the duties listed above.

My 1st position was the theater specialty teacher for grades K-6. I was responsible for creating Utah state core curriculum aligned content and lessons. I worked with K-6 grade level students and teachers daily. I developed a relationship with most of the students in K-6, knowing them by name, and how to handle multiple behaviors and personalities.My 2nd position at Davinci Elementary was an intervention specialist. I trained in the Acadience Testing program for Math and Reading for grades Kinder-6th. I coordinated and scheduled with all of the teachers to set times for testing. I administered testing in grade levels K-6 for math and reading.I was responsible for overseeing the 6th grade students that were virtual learners while the classroom teacher was responsible for the students learning in class. I was responsible for creating digital lessons to align with the lessons the classroom teacher was presenting to the students in the classroom. I had to be available throughout the day to answer any questions that students or parents had regarding virtual lessons. I was also responsible for tracking virtual attendance and reaching out to parents and students to keep them informed and involved with the 6th grade class and curriculum. Oftentimes I volunteered after school hours to give additional support to virtual students who were struggling.

I created stimulating, core aligned theater lessons. I taught all ages and abilities ranging with kids ages 5-17. I had to differentiate course materials to accommodate different levels of age and skills. My typical class size was 20-50 students. I taught at several different locations during my time, averaging 4 locations per year including Brigham City, North Ogden, South Ogden, Roy, Syracuse, Clearfield, and Kaysville. I needed to be organized and I managed different levels of behavior. I directed,choreographed, and produced multiple shows throughout Utah and in Nevada. I was responsible for arranging and teaching multiple summer camps along the Wasatch Front with class sizes of 80-100 kids ages 5-17. I advertised and worked with several businesses and leaders for donations. I had to be very organized and I was responsible for managing finances and billing. I had to communicate with my students’ parents on a consistent basis.
