As a Clinician at JCFS-Chicago, I am currently coordinating our field instruction program, responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and coordinating field instruction for second year counseling, social work, and marriage and family therapy students. I am passionate about student and staff development, and apply my skills and expertise as a field instructor as well. I also maintain an outpatient caseload of children, adults, and families with a wide variety of mental health needs. I conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and collaborative treatment plans to help my clients meet their goals. My special areas of interest are clinical issues of divorce, family mediation, and perinatal mental health. My role at JCFS has also enabled me to provide community presentations and present professional development presentations on a variety of topics.

Founded in 1975, the Music Institute of Chicago's Institute for Therapy through the Arts is one of the few comprehensive community-based arts therapy programs in the United States that offers all four arts modalities – Music, Drama, Art, and Dance/Movement therapies. ITA’s mission is to provide, facilitate, develop and research therapeutic experiences using the creative arts process for individuals with challenges caused by psychological, developmental, physical or systemic factors.

As a Clinical Intern at Response, I provided counseling services to adolescents and their families. In this role, I managed a caseload of individual and family cases, ran a group for middle school girls, and co-facilitated a support group for parents of teens.

I opened the Illinois office for New York-based CJ&D in 2004. My duties included testifying before numerous Illinois State House and Senate legislative committees, coorrdinated communications with lawmakers, the media, and partner organizations, published editorials in area newspapers, and organized and spoke at press conferences state-wide.

I launched New Voters Project in Iowa in 2003. I was responsible for hiring and managing a team of staff, interns, and volunteers, organizing the executing several statewide and national meetings and trainings, preparing and executing a field plan, and served as the public face of the campaign to media, VIPs, and other organizations.

I founded Iowa PIRG in 1999. My responsibilities included conducting successful lobbying campaigns to pass major environmental reforms, membership recruitment and relations, organizing major regional conference, recruiting and managing staff, public relations, and financials.
