About Ambrose Ling

Hi there! My name is Ambrose. I am an incoming 3rd year student at the University of Toronto pursuing Computer Engineering with an Artificial Intelligence Minor. I believe my unique undergrad experiences demonstrate my drive and passion for iterative learning, software development and machine learning.In first year, I’ve co-founded a startup that makes video calls easy for seniors, learnt a ton about building a startup from scratch, pitching to clients and investors.I led the dev team at LockIn a productivity mobile application startup that aims to get GenZ’s off their phone through positive reinforcement. I scaled the app to 2k users, deployed on Testflight and helped attract investor interest.I’ve developed computer vision models for tracking zebrafish and time-series forecasting models for zebrafish locomotion prediction at LinLab neuroscience research lab, helped streamline a lot of wet-lab experiments and contribute to better understanding of zebrafish cognitive behaviours.I’ve led my own computational biology project at UTMIST for protein function prediction and helped write ML articles on diffusion models, PEFT, GNNs.I developed,finetuned,deployed generative deep learning models for image,video generation and editing on edge devices at Huawei, enriching my experience in multi-modal transformers, diffusion models, image processing, parameter efficient fine-tuning, distributed training.I hope to just keep learning and get better at what I do.
