I am a first-year student majoring in Public Policy Analysis at the Kelley School of Business. My skills include written and oral communication, analysis, public advocacy, and resourcefulness. In the summer of 2022, I worked as an intern for the Shamiri Institute in Nairobi, Kenya, where I analyzed the effects of legal restrictions on the distribution and marketing of mental health tools within highschools in Kenya. During this time, I was able to spread mental health awareness by raising the Shamiri’s follower count by a minimum of 20% across all platforms. I also examined research on the economic benefits of adjusting government policies to account for mental health awareness in preparation for speeches and conferences within Shamiri. At IU, I utilize my knowledge of government and the law and apply it to the business world. As a member of IU Mock Trial, I am able to contribute to the current case theories by applying my knowledge of economics to the legal cases and finding financial connectors within the case that contribute to either side’s case. My interests lie in exploring how finance and economics influence government regulations and policies. I hope to connect my past and present experiences in the business field with the law field, as I plan to attend law school in the future. I am looking forward to cultivating relationships in both the business and legal fields, as well as making a meaningful impact in those fields with my prospective firm.
