Successfully managed multiple projects which developed me into a confident leader and Project Manager. One of my key accomplishments was leading the Sustainable Packaging Project, building a strong team, and facilitating discussion between multiple stakeholders (Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management and Marketing). This successfully removed all plastic from Navico Products manufactured in Ensenada. I lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to improve the product development process. I have improved the Business Case used for all projects, the management of running out parts in Ensenada, and improved collaboration methods with third parties.

My role at Pall centred on developing new products for the biopharmaceutical market. I worked within a multidisciplinary team and my role was split between project management and technical tasks. While I was able to show a strong application of skills learnt during my degree, in some instances automating or speeding up processes, I also demonstrated my ability to learn quickly on the job. From day one, I enjoyed being “thrown in the deep end” on projects that were not in my area of expertise. During my time at Pall I contributed to a successful product launch of a challenging project and was a lead engineer on another project.

I tutored extensively at the University of Auckland. This involved teaching small classes, continuously helping students to achieve their best. I learnt how to tailor my teaching methods in order to teach both groups of students and one-on-one. This work was extremely rewarding as I enjoyed helping students to reach their full potential.

I worked on a real world scheduling problem for electrical surge arrestors. The main outcome from my work was a new mathematical model for producing an optimal schedule. This role required use of my programming skills for implementing the model. I presented the findings of my research at the EURO 2012 Operations Research conference in Lithuania.

I worked jointly with my supervisors at The University of Auckland and members of Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) to build improved rosters for General Medicine registrars. Through consultation with ADHB I identified essential roster rules that, using Operations Research techniques, I implemented into a mathematical model to produce improved rosters. This work helped produce an optimised roster system which was adopted by General Medicine.

My role centred on using advanced mathematical modelling skills to build computational models to evaluate several scenarios in regards to the New Zealand hydro-generation system. This was a cross-discipline approach utilising economics, engineering, and mathematics. The aim of this research was to extend previous work in modelling competition between electricity generators. This role made use of my strong programming skills in implementing these models and extending previous work further. Another important skill I demonstrated in this role was strong written and verbal communication through meetings with my supervisors to advise them on progress. I also produced a final report to outline key outcomes which is contributing towards an academic publication.

My main role at Altitude was working on a project with the goal of increasing company-wide efficiency to reduce delivery time of programmes to clients. This involved interviewing staff in to identify areas where there was room for improvement. I reported results to senior managers and to staff by presenting at company-wide meetings. The outcome of my work was a list of clearly defined areas that required improvements, and recommendations on how these improvements could be made.

I was of the team leader of six automotive technicians, this included monitoring and improving efficiency of team members, as well as ensuring profit targets were met.

I developed new systems and reporting templates for improving the satisfaction, and retention of customers.
