Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, I spent nearly a decade in Boston and New York City working in higher education and digital strategy before realizing my calling to build a better South. As a trained urban planner, I am drawn to work in small and mid-sized cities and questions around how opportunity meets place. My mission is to make cities in the South more just, equitable, economically vibrant, and urbanistically dynamic. From 2020-2024, I served as Civic Design Principal and Senior Advisor in the City of Birmingham Mayor’s Office, where I led a lean team charged with catalyzing innovative approaches to address major challenges in the city, including economic mobility, food access, resilience and sustainability, and urban development. I currently work as an Urban Studio Designer at David Baker Architects, a progressive, collaborative firm that creates acclaimed buildings in diverse urban environments. We design thoughtful places that serve as a “multiplier of good,” supporting engagement, connection, and communities.
