DRI International hosts an annual conference for the business continuity community. I stepped in as conference support and was the main point of contact for all our sponsors and exhibitors, speakers, and award finalists. I worked closely with our marketing, sales, and operations team to ensure that all deliverables were received and provided within the timeline. I facilitated the communication and relationship between DRI and our conference partners to create a smooth onboarding and working experience. In addition, I assisted with website updates, proofing digital campaigns and content, mobile app support, and creating presentation decks along with other administrative tasks.

Rebel Nell is a jewelry manufacturer and retailer that takes fallen graffiti in our local cities and re-purposes them into wearable art with a story. More importantly, the company provides employment, equitable opportunity, and wraparound support for women with barriers to employment. As Director of Merchandising, I was responsible for creating and implementing a multi-year product strategy, with a focus on enabling Rebel Nell to deliver sales and achieve profit targets. I oversaw inventory flow and management and partnered with the COO and CEO in company planning and new product development and managed the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to customer purchase. In addition, I facilitated all purchase orders and vendor negotiations, including building relationships both nationally and internationally.

The merchant role meant that I was the brand expert for my clients and worked to ensure every product represents my clients accordingly. I curated cohesive collections for my client's ecommerce sites and worked across multiple departments to ensure that projects are being completed in a timely manner while seeking out new opportunities to maximize revenue. Additionally, I sourced new suppliers, resolved escalated invoice and order issues, negotiated pricing and terms with over 100+ suppliers, while constantly working to improve processes. I specialized with brands in the outdoor and hunting industry.

My role as project coordinator was a project management support role involving a variety of responsibilities such as accounts receivable and payable, risk mitigation, process implementation for increasing efficiency and productivity, and client document preparation. Throughout the duration of each project, I sought after new opportunities to increase margin and prevent risk. I also oversaw all client insurance policies during the pandemic. This was an extremely detail oriented responsibility and included expense reporting, facilitating vendor relationships, and tracking/data analysis for 2000+ clients.

I was the category buyer for the women's department for this specialty outdoor retailer. My responsibilities included assortment planning, building vendor relationships, attending trade shows, analyzing sales, monitoring finances, and researching and forecasting future upcoming trends. I also planned and executed all in store visual marketing such as signage, merchandising, and store layouts. This included designing and creating seasonal window displays from re-purposed materials and within budget to bring attention and attract additional customers to the store. One of my displays won a regional brand contest. Other duties performed were administrative duties, event assistance and planning, inventory management, receiving and shipping, processing invoices, quality customer service, and sales floor management.

Paddle Up Nashville is a paddle board and kayak rental service, in addition to being a high end specialty paddle board retailer. Being a small business, this position was a great entrepreneurial experience and I worked very closely with the owners in all areas of running a small business. This included developing employee training and hiring processes along with writing the handbook, inventory management and purchasing, managing 10+ staff and 15+ volunteers, event management, creating digital marketing campaigns and updating social media platforms, and leading community events. I was also an instructor and taught private lessons, group classes, and fitness classes on the stand up paddle boards.
