Dr. Amer Habibullah is an accomplished professional with a decade-long career in Landscape Architecture and urban design. As co-founder and president of the Saudi Society of Landscape Architecture, he has been instrumental in advancing the discipline in Saudi Arabia.Currently serving as Assistant Professor of History and Theories of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Habibullah holds master's and Ph.D. degrees in Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA. His areas of expertise include cultural heritage landscapes, sustainable tourism, urban design,urban ecology, landscape planning, and management.Dr. Habibullah has received numerous awards and recognitions for his outstanding work in landscape architectural design and research, including Pauline Tilton Kennedy Prize, George and Dorothy Fiel Fellowship, IPRH Graduate fellowship, prince Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf award for city humanization , and the prestigious first prize in the international design competition "University Within a Park" to design the landscape master plan of King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Habibullah holds key local and regional leadership positions. He is actively involved in the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) as the Chair of Education and Academic Affairs for the Middle East Region. At the college of Architecture an Planning at KAU, he leads the Human Resources Training and Development Division and serves on the Higher Strategic Planning Committee, shaping the college's trajectory and ensuring excellence in education and research. In the Landscape Architecture department, he is Chairman of the Strategic Plan Committee and coordinates the graduate program.Dr.Habibullah's multifaceted career, characterized by academic achievements, leadership roles, and contributions to the field of landscape architecture and urban design, reflects his dedication to shaping Saudi Arabia's landscape vision.
