Alshare is a non-profit organization that aims to promote freedom of expression and access to information through creative means. With a team of journalists, artists, filmmakers, and other creative professionals, Alshare employs modern media tools and innovative techniques to create spaces for people to express themselves and engage in projects and initiatives that have a positive impact on their communities.One of their most impactful initiatives is the ISIS Prisons Museum, which is a virtual museum that offers an immersive experience through the use of advanced technology, including 3D video and information management systems. The virtual museum includes a database of 70,000 documents and offers a comprehensive analysis of the inner workings of the ISIS organization.Alshare has a 12-year history of active engagement in the Middle East, having completed 16 projects and grants. Their work includes a Syria Mobile Film Festival, a Colorful Street Festival, training for young journalists and filmmakers, and support for civil society organizations. Alshare has trained 109 journalists and filmmakers, supported 24 CSOs, and produced 407 short videos for new media.In addition to cultural initiatives, Alshare also provides training and support to young journalists and filmmakers, and works with civil society organizations to empower them and promote their work. Their mission is to document the truth, empower people to express themselves freely, and create spaces for creative expression. The festival's first edition in 2014 was a remarkable achievement, with films screened for local audiences inside Syria despite challenging security conditions. The festival also toured to more than twenty cities around the world, bringing films and the voices of directors to a global audience.The festival provided a unique platform for professional directors and amateurs alike to use their mobile phones to create innovative and creative films on a low budget. The festival's training programs, such as the "Pixel" program, helped to cultivate a new generation of filmmakers who were able to use mobile phones as a tool to tell their stories and share their vision with the world.The "Syria Mobile Films Festival" ran from 2013 to 2018, providing a powerful platform for artistic expression and social change during a time of great upheaval and transformation in the Middle East.
