During my time at Target, the pharmacy branch was going through a nationwide software change-over. I took advantage of the transitional period and assisted in training 4 pharmacists and 6 pharmacy technicians on using a new pharmacy management software (PDX EPS). I developed a thorough brochure and other take-home materials for pharmacy teams to use on their software go-live dates and beyond. Towards the end of my internship I worked with the Target store management team to leverage the more efficient pharmacy management system as a way to improve our store's customer service performance. Throughout my internship I led a team of 2 technicians to achieve short and long term sales goals.

I was able to observe and participate in supply planning at various points; Demand Management, Fulfillment Planning, Production Planning and Warehousing. I spent two weeks familiarizing myself with JDA software to plan demand in stratified channels. After becoming acquainted with demand planning and CCBCC's largest warehouse, I worked with the Director of Supply Chain management to identify shipping processes that were inefficient. Using Microsoft Excel and VBA coding I developed a dynamic tool that used historic sales, planned demand, and SKU inputs to predict the correct pallet sizes for low-volume sales items. The Pallet-Size tool allowed CCBCC to more accurately fulfill sales and minimize costs related to out-of-date product. Overall I was able to gain a solid grasp on important Supply Chain metrics and how to influence them directly and indirectly.
