Responsible for multiple Travelers Operations Support and Engineering teams. These teams work daily to ensure that the Travelers infrastructure is running as efficiently as possible. This is accomplished by providing automated solutions to various issues and pain points that are identified. Additionally, my area is responsible for setting direction, and implementing the monitoring and alerting solution for the enterprise.

Currently manage a team of high-speed, low-drag tier 2/3 technicians specializing in incident resolution, and problem determination for the Travelers Production Infrastructure. I also lead the Travelers DevOps area, tasked with operations development for ITOC (Information Technology Operations Center).

As part of the SIS (Specialized Infrastructure Support) team I performed in-depth Root Cause Analysis of chronic Production issues, as well as real-time outage resolution across the whole of Travelers Infrastructure. This included, but was not limited to Network, Windows and *nix troubleshooting, Database, Virtual Infrastructure, AD, Exchange, Storage, etc.Developed a number of tools, automation for company-wide audit scanning, and a number of reporting structures for the team and management. This development heavily leveraged MySQL, Python, Django, and Dojo/Dijit.

Provide hardware and software support for Point of Sale system.Custom built server to handle QuickBooks database, and file sharing.Used Wireshark to perform network performance analysis, which led to a resolution in a node connectivity issue.Performed Network upgrades, set up off-site backups, and provide general IT guidance to assist in building the business.

Participating in application development and maintenance for a high-speed, high-performance repository.Developed in KSH, COBOL on Mainframe (z/OS), Syncsort, C.Performance tuned jobs to decrease runtime and increase efficiency.Spent time on production support where fast problem resolution is required.Automated daily processing of UAT environment to free up 3 man-hours a day.

Implemented new business requirements in the UPS Data Warehouse, which has over 3,000 direct users.Became SME (Subject Matter Expert) for multiple areas of the Data Warehouse.Performed in-depth analysis to troubleshoot problems and create detailed programming design documentation.Participated in quarterly software release cycle.Performed impact analysis on job schedule, and was active in scheduling new jobs.Created specialized reports to assist in identifying possible issues when an emergency system downtime was necessary. Provided ad-hoc mentoring and training of team members when necessary.Used self-education to learn languages that I had no prior experience with.

Distributed Objects (Software) to 500,000+ customers.Collaborated with users to ensure UPS customers had access to and received the correct data in a timely fashion.Created several software manuals that outlined, in detail, the operation of a specific testing tool software.Scheduled weekly team meetings, and other important events.
