As the Pre-Service Assistant, I handle office operations for an organization with a mission that affects a wide range of agency activities. Additionally, I serves as the Unit's top­ level support staff responder to medical telephone, email inquiries and electronic messages made through Peace Corps' Electronic Medical Record system. The Pre-Service Assistant also provides basic tech support and troubleshooting in response to inquiries, refers complex medical inquiries to applicant's assigned nurse or to a general nurse line, and instructs and guides other staff in responding to applicants' inquiries.

Over the last 27 years buildOn has empowered more than 100,000 urban youth to contribute more than 2.0 million hours of service that has touched the lives of more than 1.0 million people living below the U.S. poverty line. 97% of these youth graduate high school and nearly all of these go to college, even though 40% of the kids going to the same schools drop out.The Service Learning Program Coordinator leads all activities of buildOn’s Service Learning Program at one to two partner high schools to drive student outcomes and achieve KPI targets. In doing so, the Service Learning Program Coordinator partners closely with school personnel and local community partners to develop excellent service opportunities for students. The Service Learning Program Coordinator works closely with colleagues to plan and execute regional program events. The Service Learning Program Coordinator also leads recruitment and support of students for Trek for Knowledge and supports student involvement with special events, initiatives, and fund development opportunities in collaboration with other departments.

Peace Corps has been dedicated to empower and educate girls and women while addressing barriers preventing girls from completing their education. Gender Equality is a cross-sector programming priority at Peace Corps Malawi. Volunteers are trained and encouraged to incorporate gender equality into all of their projects, and to promote activities that address gender-based barriers on an individual, institutional, and community level. Peace Corps Malawi is also expanding its role in the DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, Aids-Free, Mentored, Safe) Project through the placement of Education Volunteers in DREAMS impact districts and upscaling Volunteer initiatives aimed at empowering and keeping girls in school. The Gender Coordinator supports this process by providing gender-based research to support to Volunteers and staff. The Gender Coordinator also leads the drafting of strategies for mainstreaming gender in each sector, supports staff with research on gender issues in Malawi, supports and advises Volunteers to integrate gender into their programming, and promote gender awareness activity campaigns.

Camp Chestnut Ridge is a christian affiliated camp whose goal is to get kids back outside. The camp functioned all year round with a summer camp program, an after school program, equestrian facilities and activities, and retreat center programs. As the program specialist, I was responsible for assisting in all programs year round. I was responsible for organizing after school activities as well as supervising the children. I taught horse riding lessons to young kids and led trail rides throughout the year. When a business or group came to Chestnut Ridge for a retreat, I would lead team building activities and be there to provide any assistance during their stay. Lastly, I worked on program and facility maintenance throughout the year. I worked to improve and maintain facilities during the off season.

As a camp counselor at Camp Chestnut Ridge, I aimed to be a responsible role model to the campers and encourage kids to learn how to play outside again. I served as a role model and supervisor during daily activities. Sunday through Friday, I took groups of kids to do different activities such as team building activities, horse back riding, high challenge, swimming, and many more. I encouraged campers to face their fears during high challenge activities, taught campers how to tact a horse, and even taught campers how to work together and communicate during team building activities.
