About Ami Yamamoto
Hello, thank you for reading my summary. I created a LinkedIn account in hopes to connect with people who can offer me a desirable job. I am currently an undergraduate Senior at UCI double majoring in Psychology B.S. and Criminology, Law, and Society. My research experience involves being a research assistant for four different psychology-related labs. As I plan on to get a Ph.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology, I am in the process of gaining clinical hours. My goals as of now is to build on my professional experience to gain more skills in the psychology field. In the case that I cannot get into graduate school directly after getting my bachelor’s degree, I plan to get a research coordinator position. In terms of my clinical hours, I am looking to gain experience with clinical populations of people with mood disorders. I am currently doing this by volunteering as a crisis counselor at two different suicide prevention centers. My research interest is in the area of emotional regulation and motivation. I desire to learn more about the differences between people who act upon their emotions and those who do not. I am also curious in the differences between people who turn emotions (e.g. anger, envy, etc.) into positive vs. negative outcomes. In the process of researching, I want to look into different variables including brain activity, sex, age, and more. For future career, I plan on to become a licensed psychologist.
