About Amie Bright

My name is Amie Bright, and I have a Master of Arts in English, concentration in TESOL. My experiences have allowed me to enhance my skills in office management, financial analysis, maintaining database files, providing lead work direction, training, and academic guidance/advising. My current job is the Purchasing Coordinator for Hankook Tire. Executing procurement activities for raw materials and services for tire manufacturing operations is the main focus of my current role. Before my current position, I also worked in a similar capacity as a Department Coordinator and Analyst for CSU Sacramento and Administrative Coordinator for Biomedical Engineering for Vanderbilt University. There were two roles to the Department Coordinator position. The first was the afore mentioned office management role, the second was as an advisor and the main point of contact for students. I guided them throughout their academic progress and helped them enroll in classes while assessing prerequisites to make sure they stay on track to graduate. The advising encompassed Geology, general education, and student athletes. My job as the Director of Education also prepared me for recruiting, hiring, and managing a team of teachers, increasing instruction effectiveness in line with established curriculum standards, performance coaching, diagnostic testing, payroll, tuition collection, and managing the overall office. I was also expected to teach on the floor when needed. In my twenty years of experience working in an office/administrative setting, I have coordinated and implemented curriculum changes, workshops, seminars, and assisted in organizing internal and external events. I have also been involved in improving community outreach by maximizing relationships with schools and have created presentation documents for parent conferences, interim conferences for skills analysis, and ensuring continuing education training with teachers and other staff members.
