Design, synthesis and characterization of novel payloads molecules as intermediates for antibody-drug conjugates. This internship includes route design, multistep synthesis, purification and characterization using several techniques (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC).

The focus of this project is the synthesis of low molecular weight compounds for fragment–based drug discovery. These compounds were synthesized via both conventional and novel synthesis routes including mechanochemical synthesis and high pressure chemistry.

As an intern, I participated in an interreg funded project: Puur Natuur: 100% bio-based. Within this project, my aim was to focus on the isolation and purification of natural pigments from seaweed to be applied in the textile industry.

As an intern I participated in the project ReSolve. This project aims to replace two fossil-based, toxic solvents: NMP and Toluene. During this internship, I focused on the synthesis of novel bio-based solvents as replacement for Toluene.

For my minor project, I studied the synthesis of Hydrogels. Additionally, hydrogelation studies were performed, since the purpose of these hydrogels was to support cell growth.
