I was born and raised in the United Kingdom, but my photojournalism journey began in North America, where I started as a stringer for The Associated Press in Portland, Oregon.Over the next decade, I worked as a staff photographer for various daily newspapers in Oregon, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico before transitioning to freelance photojournalism. Throughout my career, I've been honored to receive numerous awards, including recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press, World Press, National Press Photographers' Association, and Sony World Photography Awards. I was also nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Additionally, I've earned the Community Awareness Award from the Photographer of the Year International and the Golden Light Award for my documentary work. Most recently, I received an honorable mention in the Deeper Perspective category of the International Photography Awards and was selected as one of ten Oregon visual artists to receive the 2022 Individual Artists Fellowships from the Oregon Arts Commission.My expertise lies in documentary, editorial, travel, and reportage photography, with a focus on collaborating with NGOs, aid agencies, and humanitarian organizations.
