Current• Responsible for financial reporting and accounting for Emirates Airline • Finalization of monthly, quarterly and annual results in ERP environment (Oracle Financials) and presenting variance with budget/forecast to Senior management (Inc Group CFO)• Providing day to day accounting and assurance advise including setting up of new process and control to various departments – Treasury, Engineering, Skywards, Outstations, Corporate Tax• Manage external audit process conducted by Big 4 firm• Representing dept. on various ongoing projects – ERP, Business Transformation• Managing multi culture team of 40 professionals. • Presenting high quality monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements to senior management• Business support to group co.’s CFO’s- providing accounting advice influencing strategic decisions• Lead acquisition accounting including PPA – balancing business prudence vs profitability; and minimizing PL impact/ volatility and justifying goodwill, • Lead strategy for integrating financial reporting across the group (consisting 100+ group companies)• Driving the governance process around financial reporting and controls for group investment and highlighting key deviation to higher management• Evaluate the long term business and financial impact of new or revised IFRS on the Group and existing lines of businesses , including Subsidiaries and Equity investments• Keep abreast of future changes and developments in IFRS and obtain management agreement to the changes prior to the effective date of the new Standard.• Write justification papers and accounting notes that meet IFRS requirements for appraisal by the external auditors, ensuring the robustness of the solution withstand the audit test• Presenting group’s view on various accounting matter at standard setting body level – IASB
