About Amit Chavan

I am an engineer at Snowflake, working on automatic workload optimization. Previously, I was at Amazon Web Services on the AWS Lake Formation team. I was the TL for enabling governance capabilities in AWS Lake Formation, specifically, supporting atomic, consistent, isolated, and durable (ACID) transactions in data lake environments, metadata search and discovery, and data lineage.Prior to Amazon, I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the area of data management.
