About Amitabh Ranjan

Amitabh Ranjan is working in a Leadership position as Registrar in Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Govt. of India, New Delhi which is headed by Hon’ble Vice President of India as its President and Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Govt. of India as the Chairman of IIPA Executive Council. A B.Tech. from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, MBA and a NESA (Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies), National Defense University, Washington DC Alum, he is a Civil Servant with over a Quarter Century experience. He is heading all the Management, HR, Administration and Financial Services of IIPA. He is leading the Capacity Building Department of IIPA which deals in all Capacity Building Programs of Civil Servants at IIPA in the field of Behavioural, Functional and Domain Competencies. The Civil Servants include the Civil Servants of Govt. of India as well as Provincial Civil Servants and Civil Servants from foreign countries. He is heading all the Infrastructure Development in the Campus. IIPA has a fully functional big Library and its own Publication section which come out with IIPA flagship journals like Indian Journal of Public Administration (IJPA) all of which are supervised by Mr. Ranjan. He is responsible for the Board meetings headed by the Hon’ble Union Minister and Annual General Meeting headed by the Hon’ble Vice President of India. IIPA has members comprising of Senior Civil Servants and Academicians and 68 branches all over India. Mr. Ranjan is heading the Membership wing of IIPA. Being the Head of HR department, he is responsible for recruitments, career progression and all other HR functions for the betterment of the Institution. He has been instrumental in highly effective liaison with DoPT, Govt. of India as also other Ministries/Departments of Federal as well as Provincial Governments which has resulted into a Windfall gain for IIPA in terms of attracting large numbers of Officers for Capacity Building Programs at IIPA as well as big numbers of Research Studies accruing to IIPA. This has resulted into accrual of huge revenue to IIPA, in turn, augmenting the internal resources of IIPA in a big way.Mr. Ranjan has worked earlier as Dy. Director in Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India as also a Civil Servant in Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (UP), India and he is widely credited with Computerization of Regional Transport Offices in UP including implementation of “Wahan” Software (for Vehicle Registration) and “Sarathi” Software (for Driving License) in UP.
