39 years with experiences in for profit corporate & non profit sector, across domestic and international organisations. As a Founder and Past President/DG of ISPAI, helped formulate the original ISP license in 1998 leading to privatisation of Internet services (We gained Freedom for Internet in India on 8th November, 1998), opening up of Internet Telephony. international gateways, removal of govt monopoly over int'l communications, interventions with Regulator on all aspects of Internet regulations, etc. Was a member of an Expert Group on Telecom & Convergence, which was set up by then Hon'ble PM, Shri Vajpayee. As a Founder, Member / Director and CEO of NIXI, helped set up Internet Exchanges and the .IN Domain Names Registry and also the first 3 instances of Root Servers in India. NIXI now also operates the National Internet Registry and has an extensive portfolio of IDNs.Been a participant of Industry Chambers, Task Forces, Committees & Forums. At a full time job as Senior VP - Corporate Affairs, at GTL (13 years), worked with CMD, assisted him for over 10 years on various critical corporate issues successfully and was part of the team that supported the transition phase from a product company to an IT and VAS services company. Award winning Sales Management, FDI, PR, Govt business, Market Devp, Admn, Legal; exposed to variety of job content at GTL.In 2006, I set up my own company which provides consulting and advisory services to telecom and internet companies as well as other sectors. The company is Telxess Consulting Services (P) Ltd. Currently am in my 3rd stint as Board Member of Public Interest Registry, a US based Non Profit exemplary Registry, which manages the iconic .ORG, the generic Top Level Domain Name. Also interesting is my association as a Member of Governing Council, with Digital Empowerment Foundation, Delhi based NGO, which empowers grassroots communities with ICT. Specially proud of partnership I fostered between PIR and DEF to embark on the path breaking eNGO program which was run globally.
