The service-oriented architecture provided DHS a Data Analytics as a Service (DAaaS) management system and a cost saving strategic business intelligence approach to accomplishing impactful, high priority, cross-organizational projects and also saved DHS over $1 million annually.● Performed machine learning descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytics on structured synthetic data. Created an interactive demo that ingested a random set of features into an ensemble of models (Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbors, Decision Tree, and Random Forest) which showcased model comparisons (Confusion Matrix, Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve, overfitting, n-fold cross validation, etc.) when they were run. This improved the NWS agency-wide user experience by enhancing the system-wide computational speed, performance, and satellite data accessibility.● Managed, led, and created code to convert polar-orbiting satellite data into several different geospatial re-projections (ex. Stereographic, Mercator, Lambert Conformal Conic, etc.) that were defined and scoped by NWS users, utilizing Python, Linux, and IsatSS. This was a significant step in improving satellite data latency, quality, and coverage for the NWS enterprise.
