hands-on and interactive lab is intended for students who have completed Fourth Class Power Engineering Part A and Part B theory courses but do not have the work experience required to become certified as a Fourth Class Power Engineer by ABSA. Topics include: • construction of a small high-pressure boiler • boiler fittings, their purpose and operation • purpose and operation of basic controls required on a small high-pressure boiler• high-pressure steam boiler start-up and operation • boiler water treatment and boiler water testing • power plant pumps; power plant piping • steam turbines; steam driven generators; diesel driven generators; steam to glycol heating systems • refrigeration systems

Assist Supervisor and Field Engineer in completing pre-commissioning and maintenance activities at client locations. Provide support at the field level for the upstream and downstream services. Currently working on a Suncor Project in Fort Hills.• Lead in performing operation of equipment and guide other technicians under supervision (Ex. Air blow spread, flushing skid, nitrogen pumper, bulker and filtration).• Keep detailed records of flow, temperature and pressure.• Assist and guide others in controlling, monitoring and measuring equipment, instrument and computer operated system.• Monitor instrumentation that provides information about the product levels in tanks and the flow rate, pressures, volume, densities and temperature.• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment with limited supervision.• Continue to learn and assist others to read and follow the drawing of the system piping (P&ID’s)• Complete all tasks safely and effectively based on the company Safety Program and ensure all Health and Safety policies are adhered to. • Participate in shift tool box meetings and maintain Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA’s).

• Handled $10 million in drill tools and company products, ensuring proper care and storage of pieces.• Performed all quality control (QC) checks of materials being produced in conjunction with operating personal, careful to comply with company & regulatory Quality and IT standards and policies. Submitted appropriate samples to Senior Management. • Spearheaded monthly inventory counts, providing accurate reports in a deadline-sensitive environment.• Completed all formal documentation including work orders, parts sign-outs, requisitions, and production and completion of final inventory counts.• Maximized operations of company equipment and machinery, conducting safe and proper repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance work within demanding time constraints. • Informed appropriate internal staff of product faults, recommending methods for process improvements.
