The Program Manager (PM) is a grant-funded three-year position managing implementation of the Circle Forward Whole School Model (CF) in the Boston Public Schools under a National Institute of Justice grant. The purpose of this grant is to study the effectiveness of the CF Model –a restorative practices intervention designed to enhance school safety through improved school climate-- in a randomized control trial in 30 middle and high schools in the Boston Public Schools. The PM works for the Center for Restorative Justice (CRJ), and is responsible for all training and professional development under the grant, in partnership with the Boston Public Schools (BPS) and the American Institute for Research (AIR). Other responsibilities include day to day management of the Boston Public Schools (BPS) Safer Schools Initiative, development of implementation model, management of implementation team, developing, coordinating, and executing trainings and team meetings, ongoing monitoring and evaluation of project progress, communication with and reporting to internal staff, external partners, and school administrators, management of a budget totaling in about $1.5M.

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the arm of the Judicial Branch of Kentucky, responsible for upholding the rights and duties of the Constitution. As a Court Designed Specialist, I monitored juveniles who have come in contact with the justice system and have been assessed as 'high needs'. I developed individualized diversions for them as alternatives to formal court, and brought community agencies to the table to provide services to the child and family.

I assessed the quality of the clinical programming at the Teen Parenting Service Network at UCan. The network serves pregnant and parenting wards of the state. TPSN provides mentoring, therapy, and family support services to these teenagers, and I oversee that these services are administered properly. Using empirically-based research and CoA (counsel of accreditation) standards, I reviewed our methods and wrote recommendations for improvement.

Activities include art projects, learning songs, and playing games. Educational topics include workshops on bullying, body image, and domestic violence.

In completing these surveys, I was able to assess the usefulness of the services received and help provide new resources if necessary.

I helped to teach dance at the Boys and Girls Club.From June to August 2009, I choreographed and taught for the dance program at the Boys and Girls Club in Rochester, Minnesota.From September 2009 to November 2010, I was a teacher in outreach program Let's Move It! initiated by dance professor Kathleen Ridlon at Knox College. Let's Move It! is a program that provides a dance experience to underserved children through the Knox County Boys and Girls Club. The program was intended to not only expose these youth to dance, but to help them express themselves and build confidence through movement.
