I was responsible for protecting PartnerStack and customer data by conducting investigations on threat and fraud alerts. As a result, I implemented fraud detection guidelines to ensure the integrity of partnership programs and improved our threat detection coverage.I also tackled vulnerabilities through regular assessments and remediation, and worked closely with other teams to maintain SOC 2 compliance by implementing security controls and gathering necessary evidence for audits.

At Scope Security, a healthcare cybersecurity startup, I created cloud-based Sigma monitors and machine learning-based anomaly detection signatures to enhance the security posture of the hospital ecosystem and automate the detection of attacks on healthcare networks, systems, and medical devices. One of my key contributions was leading research efforts to identify threats targeting Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) where sensitive patient medical imaging data, including X-rays, CT scans and MRIs, are stored. With the rise of ransomware attacks on hospitals and clinics, this work was critical for ensuring the protection of both patient data and hospital operation.

I developed SCAP-based security policy content to automate system compliance scanning, ensuring alignment with benchmarks (STIGs) from compliance authorities like NIST, DISA and CIS. Additionally, I contributed to the enhancement of our automation scripts for a streamlined development process and took the lead in integrating system compliance scanning capabilities for macOS into Nexpose/InsightVM.

I worked on the supercomputing backend node clusters of the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) radio telescope, forming the GPU Correlator X-Engine. With the resulting processing power, the telescope currently maps the largest volume of the universe ever observed. CHIME has since been awarded the Governor General's Innovation Award (2020) and the Berkeley Prize of the American Astronomical Society (2022).
