About Amritesh Rai

Having completed my schooling from The Doon School, Dehradun in India, I went on to receive my BS (summa cum laude) in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from The Ohio State University and MS/PhD in ECE, specializing in Solid State Electronics, from The University of Texas at Austin. My MS/PhD research focused on exploring novel two dimensional (2D) atomically thin semiconductors, such as the transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), for their application in ultra-low-power, high performance and flexible nanoelectronic devices geared towards the Internet of Things (IoT).I am actively involved in various STEM outreach and mentoring programs and have mentored several middle school, high school, undergraduate and junior graduate students. I am an active IEEE volunteer and involved with various IEEE activities at the local, regional and national levels. I strongly believe mentoring/volunteering is extremely enriching and is a great way to give back to the community!
