Life is about making an impact and not making an income - These are excellent words from Kevin Kruse, Author and keynote speaker. I am a true believer in making an impact on people’s lives and that’s what keeps me going! Born and raised in the Temple City, Madurai, I completed my schooling in Chethana Mat Hr Sec School. Inspired by my school’s teachers, a spark towards education and schooling was ignited in my young mind. My DREAM! Being a studious student I completed my graduation in Bachelor's in Engineering from Mepco Schlenk with a Gold Medal and secured 12th rank in the state. Post my college, I joined iNautix Technologies, Chennai as an Application Developer. A few years later, there was a family need to shift to Bangalore for the good. As the phrase goes, a lot can happen over a coffee, it was one such meet which happens to be a huge transformer of my life. Was fortunate to meet a couple - Balki Iyer and Svetlana Iyer with a vision to start a school for children with special needs and looking for someone who can spearhead the school’s administration and operations. That meeting was instrumental in making me realize that, it was my golden opportunity to make my DREAM into REALITY of running a school. During the conversation, when I realized that 1 in 58 children in our country is diagnosed under AUTISM, with no second thought, I joined the founding team of Stepping Stones Center, kick-starting my journey in education in Jan 2013.Over the past 7 years, we have made positively impacted 450+ children in our school and graduated several of them into regular mainstream schools. Our vision is to guide our students to lead an independent life and include them in regular mainstream schools. We have also established outreach centers in a few repeated schools to facilitate the inclusion program and establish “in house special education services”. My life’s important learning - “Everyone is good at something”. I believe that all children should be given equal opportunities and thus I promote Inclusion in regular mainstream schools. I am waiting for a day to see all the schools in our country Inclusive in nature. It’s a BIG DREAM but started my journey. I am on LinkedIn to meet like-minded souls from general education who would join hands with me and make an impact in the lives of millions of children in our country. Today, I am so proud of my career transition from IT to Education as each day I go to bed with a positive feeling that I have been instrumental in making a difference not just in a gifted child’s life but also in a gifted Mother’s life.
