I am a professional Manager with 20 years of experience in civil society organizations in the domains of Arts and Culture Management, Education, Journalism, Organizational Development, Media, and Public Relations.I have had to engage with various audiences from different backgrounds. For example, as a journalist, I engaged with my readers about arts and music. About my interest in civil society initiatives, I have decided to employ my communication skills as I carried out different roles in nonprofits and NGOs. During these roles, I had the opportunity to work closely with breast cancer survivors, youth, and young parents.At the Arab Digital Expression Foundation (ADEF), where I spent 10 years, I started as a communication specialist, my main responsibilities were creating & implementing communication strategies. In 2016, (ADEF) was expanding in the Moqattam District in Cairo.As I started my new position as the Program Coordinator of the Digital Expression Community Arts and Culture space (DECA), I recruited my core team to develop their capacities. DECA started its education, arts & culture program, we have hosted 91 workshops for 854 teenagers and youth from 2016 to 2021. Financial and operational sustainability especially as a culture space model, based on cooperation with institutional partners and trainers was one of the key objectives I successfully achieved during the years I oversaw DECA.As DECA evolved as a successful model, I was assigned further tasks as the Deputy Director for the Administration of ADEF with key objectives of team building, restructuring our online knowledge bank, and drafting and implementing child protection and sexual harassment prevention policies to ensure the safety of participants and team members. Last 3 years, I assumed the role of Organizational Development Manager at Daftar Ahwal Data Research Institute (DADRI) as I became responsible for the organizational development & Community & Partnerships tracks. The first track is to improve DADRI’s team skills, therefore I introduced the capacity building program, (i.e. interactive training of trainers, the difference between institutional management vs internal management, and presentation skills). Additionally, improving our administration policies, recruitment process, and monitoring and evaluation system. The Second track relations with stakeholders (i.e. researchers, academics, bibliographers, activists, archivists, statisticians, data miners- and those with a general interest in open data and access to knowledge.)
