I am a legal assistant within the residential and commercial property department dealing with matters to include purchase and sales files of a complex nature , remortgages, transfer of equity cases and bridging loans. I was also part of setting our LEAP system up for the property department and developing our templates to ensure smooth functionality of the system and day to day running. I am our Land Registry and HMRC administrator ensuring we are kept up to date with the teams accounts at all times. My day to day role includes assisting the Director of the firm with conveyancing tasks such as:- 1. Preparing and registering AP1’s,2. SDLT preparation and submission3. The preparation of various complex documentation. 4. Exchanging Contracts5. Obtaining Land Registry documentation. 6. Ordering purchase file searches. 7. Preparing Transfer Deed’s 8. General typing of correspondence.9. Preparation of Contracts10. Dealing with Completion’s on behalf of the Fee Earner. 11. Preparing applications to the Land Registry such as forms RX1, DS2, UT1 etc.12. Drafting Contract and Leases on development files 13. Attending to complex applications to the Land Registry14. Training of members of staff who are wishing to progress within the conveyancing department
