At the heart of what I do as a retail and merchandising leader is to solve problems. I love to pair challenges, big and small, with solutions. When that happens, people get happy and it is that cause-and-effect dynamic that has me hooked in this industry. It's what I trained for. The same dynamic applies to coaching new employees. Some have never talked to people they've never met, let alone engaged them in a sales process. When I train them from a place of no experience, replace fear with confidence and watch these newly empowered professionals wield stunning product knowledge, overcome objections and influence a sale, I become so proud to share in their sudden growth.I'm in retail for the long haul, I use my 20-plus years of experience to solve problems on an operations level and for our customers in extremely competitive environments. By applying my cumulative knowledge, creative merchandising savvy, leadership and training, I exceed sales targets for my stores by thinking outside the box. What lies outside that box includes establishing differentiators throughout every store and transforming motivated employees into goal-driven sales experts. It also includes combing my passion for interior design with my creative energy to face down challenging sales objectives. I groove on transforming raw floor space into strategically merchandised products designed to walk the customer thru a physical dimension, stimulate interest and win sales.Throughout my career, I've exercised my merchandising and design skills to underscore positive customer experiences by offering the best product mix and creating eye-catching displays while leveraging my innate creativity to minimize costs. I also design and utilize planograms to create floor plans that channel customers through the decision/buying journey of top-selling items with eye-catching displays.My preferred management style is that of a servant leader, leading by example and equipping employees to succeed.
